Soda Mix

Quite possibly the most versatile of all the bake at home range, can be made into a variety of breads and meals. Made to the same recipe as we use in the bakery, but it can be so much more than a Soda Farl. Designed for convenience and minimum hassle, to make the basic recipe of the Soda Bread, all you need is:

Yields1 Serving

 1 Soda Mix
 330 ml Water
 25 ml Oil (Vegetable, Rapeseed, Olive or even melted butter)
 Some flour to dust on your work surface
 Mixing Bowl & Mixing Spoon
 Baking Tray

Preheat oven to 200oC (400oF or Gas Mark 6)

Empty contents of soda mix into your mixing bowl

Add the water and the oil

Mix until the mix is combined and smooth.

Turn the soda dough out onto your floured work surface

Sprinkle with flour, roll up your sleeves and gently knead the dough

Round into a ball like shape, and place on the baking tray

Flatten slightly, and cut an X on top

Place in the centre of the oven, and bake for 30-40 minutes or until golden brown

Cool then enjoy. Great with cheese or as an accompaniment to dinner.
